In my artistic journey, while exploring various creative avenues, from crafting funky log chairs to sculpting stone, having a passion for trying anything new, the focus has been on the vast world of painting. Working with acrylic brings paintings to life with vibrant colors and intriguing textures. The fast-drying nature of acrylics allows building layer upon layer, giving the pieces depth and dimension.
Incorporating an array of media, such as markers, pencils, pastels, and more serves to enhance the richness of the paintings. This eclectic mix adds unique elements that further captivate the viewer’s imagination.
Canvas size? The bigger the better! Embracing the challenge of bringing large canvases to life is fun, frustrating, and fulfilling in the creative process. Not having tackled anything larger than a two-car garage door, the potential for greater accomplishments is there, waiting for me. Each new project is an opportunity to push artistic boundaries and grow as an artist. Exciting times!
“Art is my way of speaking to the world. Different days produce different pieces and styles based on my experiences or those around me. So many now! “

Christian Dore
Featured Artist
Christian Dore’s work explores the impressions of the lush environment around him. He takes the expressive qualities of color and mixes them with a somewhat whimsical narrative to capture his feelings.
Dore’s flurry of abstract forms are by no means frenetic and each painting manages to convey a serene moment in time, a tranquil calm. The relentless build up of texture is intentional to convey that of sound and movement whilst meshing nature into his own distinctive style.

I am especially drawn to our National and State Parks, where the landscapes, plants, animals and cultural artifacts are preserved for our enjoyment.
As the impact of human activity increases environmental pressure on these places, it seems ever more important to appreciate them through my art. My watercolor and watercolor batik paintings express our connection to the natural world.
